After GummySearch: what we replace, and what we do not
GummySearch closed to new signups in November 2025 and goes fully dark in December 2026, leaving its paying users looking for a new home. We are not a drop-in replacement, and this page says so plainly: GummySearch mined Reddit for audience pain; we publish researched, scored startup ideas. Here is what carries over and what does not.
| GummySearch | SpotYourStartup | |
|---|---|---|
| What it is | Reddit audience research: monitor subreddits, surface pain points and demand signals from live conversations | A research library: startup ideas as nine-section dossiers with scored signals, sources and a personal fit score |
| Status | Closed to new signups November 2025; service ends December 2026 (final pricing was Free, $29, $59, $199 per month) | Active, in the open: every drop and every quiet week is on the public changelog |
| The overlapping job | Finding evidence that a problem is real before building | Every dossier's demand claims come pre-researched with listed sources, and deep analyses test an idea against your own situation |
| Price for the validation job | $29 to $199 per month while it lasted | $19 per month billed yearly, $29 month to month, with monthly cancellation |
Where GummySearch wins
- Live Reddit monitoring: if your workflow depends on tracking specific subreddits in real time, we do not do that, and you should look at a Reddit-focused tool.
- Researching an audience you already chose: GummySearch started from your niche. We start from researched opportunities and match them to you.
Where we differ
- The evidence comes to you already collected: sourced demand signals inside each dossier instead of raw threads to sift.
- You get a ranked starting point: the fit engine scores the whole library against your profile, free at /fit, before any payment.
- No platform risk on our side of the job: our research does not depend on one social network's API decisions.
This page exists because GummySearch's shutdown orphans real validation workflows this year. If Reddit-native monitoring is the part you actually paid for, we are not your tool, and we would rather say that here than in your first cancelled invoice.

The fastest way to judge us is the product itself: the fit quiz ranks the whole library against your profile in two minutes, no account, and the weekly drop lands by email.
